Best gluten restaurants in portland12/11/2023 In my reservation I said it was special occasion (it was too!) and we wanted outside. eventually, I promised my spouse a date in the sunshine and was angling pretty hard to be seated on the outside deck. My Sazerac cocktail was well made and delightful, my spouse enjoyed one of their mocktiails Price was appropriate for a high end restaurant for this dish ![]() Ample sized, good for two people to share. Spicy Tuna Sushi Roll - good quality fish that justified the price. The view of downtown glowing in afternoon sunshine on a beautiful day early June day and the sounds of the Rose Festival floating upward First off let me say, we enjoyed it and look forward to going back! I hope they continue to do well and evolve as they have. All in all I’d rate this the same now as I would have back then although I think it’s silly to hold onto an 18 year memory and not expect the menu to change at all. ![]() Dessert was also a hit - the chocolate andino, really well balanced and not too sweet. The beef hearts were so amazing (much like I remembered) that we had to order more! The octopus while slightly different but was just as good, cooked to perfection. We ordered some drinks and small plates because we’d eaten a lot throughout the day - the drinks were better than I remembered (back in the day they were a bit too boozy for me, maybe my palate has changed but I swear they taste better) the food came out quickly as well. I’ll say our waiter Rex was absolutely perfect - genuinely warm and kind, a good sense of humor and the right timing without being overbearing or a disappearing act which could have easily occurred because it was quite busy. This visit while different (tried to get seated as a walk-in and had to make a reservations to return on another night) was still amazing. Hadn’t been back until now, obviously post 2020. My first visit was back around 2008 where I had an amazing experience and likewise up until 2015. Thanks for a memorable evening, we'll be back!Ī place I have had fond memories of and will continue to recommend. They take special care of you here and the dishes are pieces of art. This place just takes hospitality seriously and it shows. THEN when they brought out our dessert they brought out their cookie dessert complimentary for our anniversary. Later he came by again to say they were going to remove it from our tab. Then our server came by to personally apologize. My husband said don't worry about it and they asked like 3 times if he was sure haha. I think the manager realized their mistake and came to correct it. He didn't realize it until he started eating it and decided not to say anything because it was the same menu price and tasted amazing. ![]() My husband ordered a steak dish and they accidentally sent out the mushroom/vegan version. It was near-booked when he got the reservation two weeks ago so I'm glad we squeezed in! The food was absolutely delicious and service was very attentive. The place is huge and is beautifully designed inside with a downstairs for special events. He read the wonderful reviews online and was surprised we hadn't come across this place before. My husband took me here for our anniversary dinner - it exceeded our expectations.
